How it works
Brownout alerts for the Visayan Electric service area in Metro Cebu. An independent service, not affiliated with Visayan Electric (VECO), AboitizPower or NGCP.
- 1
We read public sources
We collect Visayan Electric's public website notices and AboitizPower's mobileAP outage reports when their collectors are enabled. Calendar access and other sources may be unavailable; their status is shown below. Facebook and email collection require separate activation.
- 2
We turn notices into outages
Time, type, the barangays and streets named, and every later change or cancellation. If a notice gives no end time, we show none.
- 3
We trace the notice maps
Most scheduled notices include a map with the area marked in yellow. We trace it onto ours, and skip it if we can't place it with confidence.
- 4
We match them to your places
Your street named, your whole barangay named, or your place inside the traced area: likely affected. Only part of your barangay named: possibly affected.
- 5
Optional alerts
Messenger and WhatsApp alerts require a separate channel connection, your consent and operator activation. Saving a place or signing in does not enable delivery. Unconfirmed reports never trigger automatic alerts.
Coverage
Cebu City · Mandaue City · Talisay City · Naga City · Consolacion · Liloan · Minglanilla · San Fernando
What we can't promise
- Barangay boundaries aren't power-line boundaries. A notice can cover only part of an area, or reach homes just outside it.
- No notice doesn't mean no outage. Faults happen without warning, and some notices come late.
- Restoration times come from the source and can change.
